make my day.

ok, i totally missed the jump, but i'm jumping for joy at the fact that i've been able to make use of these rainboots. i often make impractical purchases which leads to buyer's remorse, but the hunters have been totally justified. it's been raining for days here, and i'm making good use of these while i can.

i took a friend for crepes and coffee for her birthday on sunday. now, this woman is an amazing person. she has a full-time job, bought a coffee business to save an acquaintance's job, operates said business, bought a house a few years ago, has a tenant, buys treats for bear, bakes treats for us, and...she's blind. not that being blind has anything to do with any of that, but i love that she makes no excuses for her disability.
she's genuinely kind and caring and positive, and even though i don't know her that well, i was glad i had the chance to take her out. she said it made her day, but being able to do something nice for her made my day.

le greek...mozzarella, feta cheese, spinach, red onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, kalamata olives, italian dressing.

That was so sweet of you to take her out for her birthday! She sounds like an amazing woman all right. My niece is disabled and my sister always makes her do everything herself so that she knows for certain that she can do anything she puts her mind to. It is really inspiring. Also inspiring are these Hunters. I love them! So cute Oomph!

I have some rainboots and I get to wear them maybe 5-10 times a year, and everytime I am so glad I have them. I love this simple look and the fact that your sweater has a hood!

Every once in a while you come across these incredibly exceptional people who go beyond the norm despite what most people think is a sever disability (I can't imagine being blind, it seems terrifying). I worked with a deaf lady who told me it was no big deal for her because she'd never had hearing so she didn't know any other way. Kindness goes such a long way, if only more people realized how true that is!
