where on earth is krispy.

last year, when i started the elf on the shelf tradition, our elf, krispy, was literally the elf on the shelf...or picture frame. this year, krispy is getting a 'lil more mischievous...he got a scissors and cut up a bunch of paper, and he even toilet papered a picture on the wall. hmmmm...wonder what he'll do next.

today begins our 12 days of christmas. another sort-of tradition i started last year to teach the minis that christmas is for giving. they get their presents (one every day until christmas), and christmas day is when they give presents to family and friends when they come over. of course, they'll still have presents to open on christmas from other family members and friends, but i think they appreciate each gift more since they aren't tearing thru a whole pile on christmas.

tell me about some of your holiday traditions.

(necklace via oomph (buy))
taking reindeer for a joyride...
hanging out with friends...
(material girl vest; express top; old navy pants, nine west shoes)

  2. That is a great tradition. I think it's important to teach our children the importance of the holiday and that it's about giving and not just receiving.

I love the color of your jeans and that awesome vest! Heather

  3. I like your tradition, both for what it is and simply for being something you'll repeat. Traditions add stability and peace to our lives.

And, of course, I admire your chic outfit. Great vest.

  4. I love the picture of your elf on a shelf sitting on the reindeer. So cute.

The color of your pants is very pretty and I adore that vest. You look amazing as you always do.

When I was young all of my friends opened their Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve but my parents always made me and my siblings wait until Christmas morning. This is something I love doing.

Probably my favorite tradition is baking Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve. We have done this my entire life. They always look horrible and taste even worse but my entire family gathered around the kitchen decorating these ugly cookies is one of the things I look forward to most.

  28. So fun this elf on the shelf thing!
We do the usual stuff, chocolate advent calendars for the entire month of Dec...decorating Dec 1st and new pj's on Xmas eve. Not so exciting but there's a certain comfort in that y'know?

  29. Love, love the vest and the necklace. I got two of those necklaces too and yet to wear them.
This year the holidays are so busy for some reason I am constantly playing catch-up.

Our elves are still at that 'sitting on a shelf or other locations' period. May be next year I will get creative with them. THis year we barely remember to move them every night!
