neutral stripes.

i've been talking about juice cleanses for a while now, and i finally bit the bullet and started juicing. i was interested in a cleanse for mini-she because her on-the-go schedule usually results in bad food choices and a lot of snacking. i thought a cleanse might reset her body and make her feel good so that she'd want to eat healthier. (but the darn kid shovels a big mac thinking it's ok because she's chasing it with green juice!). at least she drinks the juice, and that's a start. at this point, we're not doing a full cleanse; just adding juices to supplement her diet.

i was hesitant at first thinking of the cost and time involved. it's only been a few days of juicing 2x a day, and we've already burned through costco sized bags of greens and fruits...so i'll see what the costs are after a couple weeks. as far as time, i prep the fruits and veggies at night and bag them so mini-she can grab and juice. worst part is cleaning the freaking juicer.

i know i say this all the time, but a new fave sweater!
added color to this neutral outfit with accessories and shoes.
healthy snacking...strawberries + snap peas.
morning blend:
4-5 handfuls of greens mix (baby kale/chard/spinach)
1 apple
1 orange
1/4 lemon

JustFab 'Statement' bag; Lulu's shoes)

Welcome to juicing! haha! I've been doing it off and on for a while now, and yes the worse part is the cleaning! UGH! I have the Breville too and a Ninja. I try to make bulk so it saves time and cleaning, but you really need to drink it quick or it starts to taste weird. I got my gma into it and she really loves it! I usually do Kale, apples, celery, cucumber, bananas and almond milk. Cheers!!

Looooooove juicing! But you're right, it can be costly and timely. In the end though, it's not too bad and SOOOOO beneficial. Good luck to you! I love the stripes and the cute heart pockets!

Lol on the cleaning the juicer! It's the worse part and always ends up making me stop! I bought 2 substitutes: 1. a manual old school juicer {really just for orange juice or lemonade and 2. a press {which I haven't tried yet!}
I'm on a cleanse right now and it is H.A.R.D.

yeah, i like to drink it fresh, but making batches would be easier. so do you just mix the milk into the juice after?

yes, it's worth the trouble!

at least you're able to juice somewhere!! thanks for dropping by!

as much as i want to try a cleanse, i need food, lol!!

oomph. said...

it's just an easier way to get your full servings of fruits and veggies. if you eat well, i'd say that's enough!

thanks amy.

I never do juicing because I hate to lose the micronutrients in all the pulp, skins, etc. I much prefer smoothies. However, I do love the Dean & Grace clothes - would love many of them in my size!
