soul searching.

i have this unsettled feeling.
not even sure what it's about.
maybe work. maybe home.
maybe just life in general.
i feel like i need answers,
but i'm not sure what the questions are.
a feeling like things just aren't quite right.

i always tell the minis that they have a choice.
when mini-he is misbehaving,
i tell him he can choose to be good or bad.
when mini-she feels like the world is against her,
i tell her she can choose to be happy or sad.
maybe i need to take my own advice.
make it my choice to put things
in the right place.
ever feel like this?

continuing on with the colored denim this week.
my peach pair with summer whites...
and a bit of leopard, of course.

(top + denim (similar), f21; shoes, delia's (buy))

in case you missed it, yesterday's red denims here.

Loving this casual look, darling!
By the way, your pictures are becoming more and
more beautiful! Do you use photoshop? I'm thinking
of purchasing to edit my pictures. Thanks!

I do have that feeling sometimes. It's strange when you just can't put your finger on exactly what's off. At least you look fantastic, I'm in love with those shoes!

As of right now, I am an expert at how that feeling feels! I am on the job hunt, in search of a teaching job, and it really sucks not knowing where I will end up! I just want to know, now, but know that being impatient will only make this time more stressful. I love the way you put it though, we do have a choice. I guess I should sit and think about what choice I will make :)

YOUR OUTFIT IS FANTASTIC! Best of luck to you in finding your answers, and making your choices!

This is a super cute outfit! Love the loafers. I've never seen leopard ones before.

Ah. You are a smart mommy. I need to let my toddler make her own choices. After all, she's Miss Independent now.

I like how you tell your kids that they have a choice as to how they behave, I think I will start doing that w/ my daughter (4) :-)....Awesome shoes!

First I am going to get the obligatory lusting over your outfit over with and say that I am LOVING your leopard boat shoes. They are soooo fab. And the peach jeans are just divine.

Second, girl. We all feel like that at some point or another. I totally get where you are coming from and I respect that you can share it with us. I tell my kids the same thing and it always seems a bit hypocritical because it is hard to do it as an adult. But the truth is, you are building a foundation of them being responsible for their feelings. As adults, we often loose sight of that. Sometimes it is not as easy as what we choose to feel--we just have to feel. And then react appropriately.

Best to you Rebecca. And if you need anything, you have my email address.

Hmmm - you need to be honest with yourself about the unsettling feeling, acknowledging it is better than ignoring it. Like you tell your minis, you do have a choice on how to respond, and you can choose to ground yourself in the people, values, and beliefs that remind you who you are and what you stand for.

As for the outfit - you always you fabulous, and throwing that little somethin-somethin that makes the outfit uniquely you. In this case, pulling off the leopard print kicks - BOOM!

Take care! xo

great outfit!

I hear you on feeling unsettled, I've been feeling like this a lot too. This whole year hasn't been great for me and even when I make the choice to be happy and stay positive things seem to go in the opposite direction. You're not alone!! I hope that things come in to perspective for you!

cheers!

Sometimes, before you choose how you want to feel, you have to understand what it is that you are going through. Embrace your thoughts, and continue to seek understanding. If you find the answer, then make a decision on how you want to proceed. Hopefully, this makes some semblance of sense!

On a fashion note...those shoes are fierce! ;)

I hate when things feel unsettled, and you don't know why! Its frustruating, but I'm sure you will figure things out. I love the advice you give the mini's
I love the pale peach pants you're rocking, they're lovely especially with the button up and your amazing leopard print sneaks!!

I'm a little pissed at where my life is right now and I chose to be that way hehehe I really am a little annoyed at certain things that were not asked for nor can be helped but I know that there's nothing I can do about it except be me and keep going. There's just no alternative right? Anyhoo, before I depress myself any further and then go shopping I will compliment you on your colored jeans! Need some more pairs myself :)

I love the peach jeans!

And yes!! That's exactly how I was feeling before I went back to school for teaching. You mentioned you've always wanted to teach... maybe you could look into getting certified?

I've been feeling really restless and struggling with how to handle so many things ni life...so I can definitely relate! Take some time off to yourself and try to figure it out--it might seem like a hassle to spend time on just thinking, but in the long run it will be rewarding and help get yourself back in the vibe :)

Love these peach skinnies...make a great pairing with the leopard shoes, the contrast is subtle but makes the most of both!

the shoes are so cute with these pants. And yes, I have felt restless in the past, and I believe in the very advice you've given your children, but it sounds like you first need to figure out what is causing the restlessness...

Oh I like this! You look like you could blend in perfectly at some swanky beach resort somewhere :) I'm feeling much the same way really, although I think I'm just growing up way late haha, having all these realizations about the world and stuff. Life is so intense!

I felt like this back in October right before I decided to quit my 20+ year corporate career. It is a struggle but your heart will guide you to the right place.
I just grabbed a pair of peach jeans! Was planning to wear with chambray but I like this look too.
