No nonsense.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense. All opinions are 100% mine.

now that our [so-called] winter months are approaching, i'll finally have a real reason to layer up and wear my jackets and sweaters. these No nonsense tights and leggings coudn't have come at a better time. i had the opportunity to try their cotton leggings in black and their super opaque control top tights in cobblestone. both of these fit right into my casual
style and lifestyle.

No nonsense has a wide variety of leggings and tights in many colors, textures, patterns, and lengths. the quality is excellent and the prices affordable...best part is that they can easily be found in most food and drug stores
and mass retail stores.

leggings are perfect for wearing with over-sized sweaters.
these cotton leggings were slightly big, but i actually preferred the looser, pant-like fit.

the tights seemed tiny when i took them out of the package;
i was afraid they would be tight. however, they were very comfortable and didn't cut me off at the top like other control tops. just like accessories, i love how tights can transform the look of an outfit. a bright pair could add some much needed color while a patterned pair would add texture and depth. here, it took my shorts from day to night and added warmth on a chilly evening.

No nonsense recently named Jill Martin their brand ambassador. as an access hollywood correspondent, who is surrounded by fashionable stars, and author of "I Have Nothing to Wear!", Jill offers ideas and tips on how to wear the new and improved
tights and leggings.

block party.

on saturday, we had a neighborhood halloween block party.
it was the first ever in the history of our street. although four of us [neighborhood moms] get together regularly, it was nice to mingle with the rest of the families. with over 50+ people who attended, i'd say it was a success. many have already expressed interest in the next one.

i pulled these shorts out of the motherload for mini-she, but ended up keeping them for myself. i just realized [while typing this post] that it has animals on it. all these years i thought it was camoflauge.

are you close with your neighbors?
what are your plans for halloween?

foxy brown was in full effect.
best part was the afterparty in the garage.

4x4.

is there anyone out there who can do the rubik's cube?
when my sister was in high school, one of her teachers showed her how to do it, and she taught me. we would race against each other to see who could do it faster. i used to bo able to do it in under 2-1/2 minutes. i was in elementary then, but every once in a while i'll pick it up and do it a few times,
just so i won't forget.

recently, mini-she and my nephew became interested in learning, so i taught them. then, my nephew decided to get ambitious and go for the 4x4 cube. he said it's really hard, and now the competitor in me wants to buy one so that i can learn it faster first. he's coming over tonight, so you know what we'll be doing.
i'm warming up my fingers.

print mixin.

sometimes something happens that just puts you in a mood for the rest of the day. it wasn't anything bad, and it wasn't anyone's fault, but it just lingered in my head for most of the day. enough that i didn't really get anything done. i did have a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and a no-foam soy latte which were both really yummy, so that was good.

here's to getting over this hump day.

foxy brown wouldn't leave me alone...she kept nudging me!

lime orange.

these are probably the two brightest pieces in my closet, paired together for a blinding combination. i thought it was the perfect backdrop for an equally bright, white leather + bead necklace that i picked out using an INpink credit i received.

recently, i've been loving a much simpler arm stack...2-3 pieces at most. check out lovely obsessions for some oomph-worthy pieces. enter code: rockoomph for 10% off.

and finally, mini-she and i spent some quality time over lunch at cpk this weekend. we shared salad and pasta before indulging in pumpkin cheesecake.

our favorite spinach artichoke dip.
tried this (seasonal) pumpkin cheesecake. excellent!

a.m. party.

with the holiday season comes holiday parties. velour, sequins, and satin are festive and sometimes thought of as formal wear...but sequins and satin paired here with denim and slippers is something i might wear to a daytime party.

foxy brown was stuck to me like glue.
this is probably the first real post with the new hair.
i made a yummy turkey chili in the slow cooker for dinner.
then headed over to my neighbor's for cake and wine.
it was a good day.

how did you spend your sunday?

before and five hours later...the easiest turkey chili.
served with a dollop of sour cream and corn muffins.
