i mentioned before that i'm not much of a thrifter, because
1) we don't really have any shops here, and
2) the ones that we do have aren't on my daily path of travel.
sadly, i only venture out to these places on october 30th when i'm desperate for a halloween costume. but that's when i found my now favorite leopard blouse, here.
still, i'm amazed at what people find while thrifting, so i decided to make the trek.
ok, i really love the idea of thrifting, but it's kind of like shopping at...ross. racks and racks of stuff thrown together; it's overwhelming. a few blouses at this place were a bit sketchy...i mean, check it below - one of them even had someone's lunch from who knows when?!
this fabulous blouse, on the other hand, didn't require any travelling, nor did it come with dinner. just a few clicks at stilettos and diaper bags' shop my closet section, and it was all mine. i must confess that i find a bit of comfort in knowing exactly who was wearing the stuff before.
on that note, i've been working on the [marketplace.] and hope to get the first round of items up this week.
(blouse, lisa's closet; pants, bebe; tank, f21)
a blouse with a side of rice? no thank you.
Ewwww! They let it out in the store like that? LOL I haven't been thrifting in a while. And generally, I'm not looking for anything fabulous. Cute shirt, but I really like the pants. Have a great Monday/Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI love this sheer blouse and those pants make you look SO tall and elegant! WIN WIN! (except for the rice...oops) :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty in this post.I love how you layered with a colored tank. Nice pop of color + The fit of the pants are amazing.

At first I was also hesitant with the idea of it but I started reading blogs and I read some local TV personalities from here thrift too. tried it myself. It's fun and you'll be surprised to find pieces that are unique. =) Wishing you lots of luck on thrifting! I love your nails again!!!
ReplyDeleteI can never seem to find anything great while thrifting either! Maybe it's just that (like you) the area I'm in doesn't have any great thrift stores...
ReplyDeleteI adore that blouse!
That top is really pretty! I love your pants!
ReplyDeletei have to agree i'm kinda scared of thrifing and never have any luck finding anything my size anyways. i do really love the blouse you're wearing and love the high-waisted pants!
ReplyDeletecute & little
Can't say I have ever been a fan of Ross either.
ReplyDeletehttp://idontwearjeans.blogspot.com/
The thrift stores in my area are a little thin when it comes finding fashion treasures! And you're right, it is a lot like shopping at Ross (nothing against it, but I get a headache when I'm in their clothing section)!
ReplyDeleteI love the blouse!
I'm the same way...always impressed with the thifting finds of other people, always intrigued by the idea of thrifting, always too intimidated/confused/overwhelmed to follow through with the process myself. Oh well, I'll stick to F21 for my thrifty purchases, I guess :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blouse today!
ugh, mysterious stains... deal breaker for me.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit though!
I never really find anything at thrift stores... I wish I could though! lol. I love the idea of thrifting as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous top! I love how you wore it with those pants! And uhm... that last pic? ewww.

Thrifting is so fun, but it takes a lot of patience/time and you have to be willing to know you may not find anything.
ReplyDeleteBut this blouse is reallly gorgeous, I love the pattern! So chic!

Love this blouse. I assume you added the tank underneath which adds a punch of color.
ReplyDeleteAnd those pants totally accentuate your long legs.
Totally get what you mean about the thrift and discount stores being overwhelming. Before kids they didn't used to bother me. I would actually see it as a challange. But now with such limited time to browse I get frustrated. I am now so much more into online shopping at the comfort of my own home and at my own time. :)
love the blouse! :)

what a great print on your blouse, love it!

I love that blouse. I wish I was better at thrifting, too, but the whole concept scares me.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally lame, I know.
P.S. Obsessed with your multi-finger ring. I have about 34982342 of them now. They're too awesome.

ReplyDeleteIt's always hit and miss when I go thrifting. I rarely find a gem, but when I do it's usually a good one and I guess that keeps me going back for more. That blouse looks great on you and I love the pop of the pink tank underneath!!!

I like the way you layer the sheer blouse over a red tank instead of the usual nude or black. This makes the sheer top unique.

ReplyDeleteYay for thrifting.
