i'm on a mission to find yet another maxi.
i know...tsk tsk.
a simple black tank dress, preferably with a racerback.
i was just saying to a fellow blogger how difficult it is to find basics...including the perfect white tee and the little black dress. now that i want this simple black maxi,
i can't seem to find one.
anyways, i was reminded of the blue maxi dress that sara tried on at our blogger meet-up. plain and simple, but it was the little ruching at the hips that gave it oomph.
i tried to create a similar effect by "knotting" my dress
at the hip.
i took a hair rubberband and tied it on the inside
to get rid of the bulky knot on the outside.
dragonfruit.
similar consistency and texture to kiwi...not as sweet.
(dress, lani via local boutique)
in case you missed it, check out the express jeans giveaway here.
I love what you did to this dress! I never thought about tying it from the inside. :) You look chic as always. xx
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your dress! Such a cute idea! I want a maxi dress too! I only have one and it shrunk in the dryer... so its not quite a maxi anymore :/ Good excuse to buy another? :) I think so!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! I love your jewelry choices and knotting it up really looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to knot the dress on the inside! I may steal this trick :)

You can definitely rock the maxi- and in a place like hawaii, it seems like it would be ever appropriate!
ReplyDeletei'm really loving the dress and how you made the clinch and the green layering nice and very creative
ReplyDeleteAhh, I love what you've done with your dress!
ReplyDeleteAnd it really goes well with the green!
You look super tall! Whenever I go shopping, I always gravitate towards "basics" for some reason, even though I have TONS of "basic" garments already. But you're totally right. It's how you wear it that really matters. I mean, that knot really makes that dress all the more interesting! Love it!

That dress it to die for!!! I want one!!!
ReplyDeleteyou look real good with maxi dresses and i remember me posting a comment with your blog before that i can't rock them the way you do. it is hard to find basic essentials that's why i like to buy them in every color so that they don't easily look worn out or faded. have a happy monday! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's really cool! I'm going to have to experiment with that sometime.
ReplyDeleteI actually found dragon fruit to be very bland. Not unpleasant, but definitely not as exciting a taste as I was expecting haha...
Love that knotting idea. Looks great. The pop of green under is very cool as well.
ReplyDeleteI have never had dragon fruit. Looks yummy.
