i'm not sure why, but i was hesitant to wear this cross-laden sweater to mini-he's (christian church) preschool. i'm already the mom who wears six-inch platforms...i didn't want to be the radical mom who comes wearing crosses around my neck and
on my back, too. i'd hate to offend anyone.
turns out mini-he's teacher loved it.
she even asked where i bought it from. too funny.
this skirt has been in the alteration pile for quite some time. it's one of those sheer numbers with hot pants underneath.
i last wore it here and mentioned that i wanted to line it so that it would be work appropriate. still haven't lined it, but in desperation (of needing something to wear), i cut this slip out of another dress. it's about eight inches too short, but it worked for today. i also realized that this black slip is too dark...a nude color would better show the pretty browns and gold.
today's lunch.
It just goes to show- at the end of the day, you never know what people's style or taste or opinion is until they say it! I love the sweater :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! You look great!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing that leopard skirt on F21's site. I passed it up, because it wasn't lined. Dang it.. I should've snatched one up and just lined it myself.... darn!
ReplyDeleteWell, you look fabulous, hun. and the DIY sweater = AMAZEBALLS!
xx Love & Aloha
I LOVE ur outfit!! and that skirt is indeed lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great way of making it work appropriate. I have the same skirt and might be able to do something like that.
ReplyDeleteLove the cross cardi. Looks very cool.

I'm not a very religious person, but I can't see how this would be offensive. Glad it worked out! I love the skirt. I've been eyeing it on F21 for quite some time now. May be time to take the plunge! Love this look and I cannot believe you made this sweater! Great look!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, I wish I could figure out how to wear leopard as well as you.
ReplyDeleteHey platform mom, ha ha. You look so good. I am in love with that skirt for SURE. I want one of my own. The sweater is great too and I am glad you ended up impressing instead of offending. With crosses I feel the same way but end up wearing them anyway.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Bre
