i was excited to hear that love & sunshine is coming out with a new fabric clutch. i'm already obsessed with my leopard pouch and i'm loving the fresh print on their new design. you can see a better picture of it here. keep your eye out on their instagram page for its availability.
wearing a white leather tee and jeans with a camel colored jacket...a neutral yet complementary backdrop for this pretty patterned clutch.
is it friday yet?

my friendship swap bag included a couple of long cardigans which are perfect for fall. this grey open-style cardigan was one of them. you can't go wrong with a neutral palette and, of course, a pop of color with bright pink lips from laqa & co. and this burgundy clutch from love & sunshine.
this was a weekend of exercise, nature, and food. we conquered two hikes (caught the sunrise from diamond head and the sunset from aiea) and i tried a new restaurant. love full weekends like these.
what's your ideal weekend?
do you like neutral for fall or bright colors?
saturday's sunrise hike to the top of diamond head crater.
bills sydney in waikiki. there's a cafe ground floor on the right (not pictured) and main restaurant upstairs. i think it's a little pricey for breakfast, but it hit the spot.
much needed first cup of coffee post-hike...very heavy and thick, but good! ($3.50)
interior. simple but grand with the high ceilings. love the woodsy outback vibe.
one of their specialties, the ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter ($15). very yum. seafood kim chee fried rice in the background ($16). tasty but salty. probably wouldn't order that again. also ordered lemonade ($5). parking $6 + tip = $50+ breakfast.
sunday's sunset hike at aiea loop trail.
carnitas tacos after the sunset hike (plus a watermelon cooler and molten lava cake!)

it's starting to get chilly here, and i'm excited to wear my scarves and sweaters again. and while i'd also love to rock the classic trench or a fur coat (yeah right!), i'm keeping it on the lighter side with a cardigan duster. after all, mid-day is still around 80 degrees. this one from my friendship swap is the perfect fall color, too.
since it's summer year round in hawaii, we miss out on seasonal things, like fall fashion. when the weather cools, we jump at the occasion to layer up and break out the boots and jackets. i'm still waiting for the day i can wear a leopard fur coat...but until then, it's all about compromise. this LBD from patty's closet is a perfect example. its slightly higher cowl neck and thicker material are bearable because it's sleeveless. and since it's textured, it really doesn't need much...simple heels, a statement necklace, and a red lip. that is all.
do you experience the seasons where you live?
hilltop views of the honolulu skyline.
these clay cafes are making a comeback here. if you follow me on snapchat (@ rockoomph), you know what i made. can't wait to see the final product!
fall has finally arrived here on the islands...this week i actually felt chilly in bed and needed my blankets. and while we'll never pack away the shorts in hawaii, there is a way to transition into fall by pairing shorts with a blazer or light jacket.
it's been another wet and rainy week here, and while some rain may be good, too much can be bad for crops. i went to the farmer's market this weekend hoping to pick up my usual kale salad ingredients, and there was none. zilch. nada. because of the rain.
do you frequent your farmer's markets?
what summer items are you transitioning to fall?
early morning trips to the farmer's market always end with breakfast.
