leopard tights + boots.

i'm late to the party.
we're already eight days into 2015 and i haven't quite figured out what my goal for the year is. last year's was simple. the marathon. this year, i want a similar goal that i can focus on entirely. sure, i have other things i want to do, too, like read more, get organized, and try new things, but i haven't pinpointed that main goal...yet. have you?

what do you want to accomplish this year?

LBD + chevron tights.

an LBD for this semi-wordless wednesday.

add oomph to an all black outfit with textural elements like these chevron tights and quilted heels.

how's your week so far?

first time at Wing Stop as they recently opened here: 20-piece boneless (teriyaki, garlic parmesan, louisiana rub) + veggies, fries, and 2 drinks = $28. the wait time was pretty long, but i thought the food was pretty decent. my favorite of the three we tried was the teriyaki with ranch dip.
do you have a Wing Stop near you?

peach + crosses.

i took one test shot before it started to rain, nonstop; so this one shot is all i got. on the hanger, the strings on this top looked like trouble...a complicated and potentially tangled mess. it did make it to the dressing room, however, and it wasn't at all what i expected. your arms went under all of that, and the strings fell nicely on your shoulder. it turned out to be a pretty, oomph-worthy detail. of course, i had to balance that pretty with some bad a$$ crosses. these cute shorts have pockets (sold!) and are fully lined (bonus!). and for some reason (maybe the crosses?), i wanted to wear some kick a$$ boots, so i threw on my favorite JustFab boots with some black tights to
elongate my legs.

just curious, what lip color are you currently loving?

eleven down one to go.

november is gone, and in looking back at my resolutions,
here's a quick recap of the month:

sleep early - i'm always up later than usual during the holiday season...so many things to do after the minis are asleep!
exercise - mini-she bought just dance 4 for the wii,
so we got our dance on a few times.
girl time - we're slacking...but we do have something
planned this month.
read - eek, no reading AGAIN this month.
one-on-one mini time - check! science & engineering fair
with mini-she...played life-size angry birds,
dissected owl pellets, made mini robots.
try something new - check! DIY dip-dyed denim (post to follow),
participating in a neighborhood jingle, dissected owl pellets!
organize posts - check! caught up on a review for Century 21.

how was your november? any special plans for the holidays?

No nonsense.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense. All opinions are 100% mine.

now that our [so-called] winter months are approaching, i'll finally have a real reason to layer up and wear my jackets and sweaters. these No nonsense tights and leggings coudn't have come at a better time. i had the opportunity to try their cotton leggings in black and their super opaque control top tights in cobblestone. both of these fit right into my casual
style and lifestyle.

No nonsense has a wide variety of leggings and tights in many colors, textures, patterns, and lengths. the quality is excellent and the prices affordable...best part is that they can easily be found in most food and drug stores
and mass retail stores.

leggings are perfect for wearing with over-sized sweaters.
these cotton leggings were slightly big, but i actually preferred the looser, pant-like fit.

the tights seemed tiny when i took them out of the package;
i was afraid they would be tight. however, they were very comfortable and didn't cut me off at the top like other control tops. just like accessories, i love how tights can transform the look of an outfit. a bright pair could add some much needed color while a patterned pair would add texture and depth. here, it took my shorts from day to night and added warmth on a chilly evening.

No nonsense recently named Jill Martin their brand ambassador. as an access hollywood correspondent, who is surrounded by fashionable stars, and author of "I Have Nothing to Wear!", Jill offers ideas and tips on how to wear the new and improved
tights and leggings.

comfort in sweats.

you wouldn't have known, by the looks of these photos, that is was raining cats and dogs on this day. it was windy and cold, and i dressed for comfort with no intentions of taking pictures...but, i figured it was a rare occasion that
i was wearing tights + socks + high boots.
this sweatshirt dress used to be one of my favorites. now the stretchy parts aren't really stretchy and it has lost its softness. i'm hoping to find a replacement.

these photos finally reflect the haircut i was talking about a couple weeks ago. i asked for a shoulder length bob, but my stylist said no. instead, she cut off about six inches in the back, more on the sides to give me a v-shape and threw in a lot of layers on the bottom half to really thin it out. the day of the cut, she ironed it stick straight, but typically a loose braid overnight helps to tame the frizzies and embrace the natural waves that i have.

the day of the haircut...
i will never get it this straight at home.

experimenting with extremes. animal prints 02.

this edition of extremes was accidental. in fact, i didn't really notice all of the animal prints until i saw the pictures...and it was all in the accessories. i only knew that i wanted to wear tights with leather shorts and denim with some kind of leopard. i also wanted a brown bag, and i threw on the fur just because. the tights and bag were a christmas gift from my friend. thanks, c!

i'm proud to say that i've been sticking to one of my resolutions to exercise more this year. i've been exercising with a group that meets up once a week to do workouts similar to boot camps. the usual routine starts with a run up and down the beach followed by circuit type exercises with weights and tension bands, and ends with a timed "burn" session...sprints, sit ups, push ups, etc. yesterday we changed things up a bit and did a hike to the top of the mountain followed by a burn session. it was killer, but the view was breathtaking and the temperature up there was so nice and cool. it was like working out in air conditioning. next time i'll bring my camera.
