express yourself.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Revlon.
All opinions are 100% mine.

Revlon wants you to express yourselves!
for years, Revlon has been providing tools that empower women. it's time to use these tools to your advantage. we normally think of wearing makeup to hide our flaws...a pimple, dark spots, bags under our eyes...but what if we used makeup to enhance our best features? step outside of the box and try something new like a bold red lip, daring color on your nails, bright shadows on your eyes, or simply give yourself a perfect canvas to start with using primers. all of these 'challenges' are part of the Revlon Expression Experiment and are meant to inspire women to get expressive. our clothing choices
change day-to-day based on our moods,
shouldn't our makeup be just as reflective?

scroll down to see which of the challenges i tried.

 the red lip challenge
before.
what i wore: revlon super lustrous lipstick in fire & ice
how it made me feel: of all days, i was taking my daughter to tour a new school. at first, i felt intimidated by the bold color. what would the other parents think? i tried to blot, but the color wouldn't come off (that's a good thing...it has staying power!). so i held my head up high, smiled at everyone, and i didn't get those stares i thought i would get,
and it felt great. i did feel empowered and confident.

the bright eyes challenge
what i wore: revlon colorstay 16-hour eye shadow in inspired
how it made me feel: i don't think i'm alone when i say i'm afraid to look like a clown. i usually stick to neutral colors, especially because of my single asian eyelids. not having that fold really makes application challenging for me. i applied the quad as suggested on the back with the creme under my brows, the light blue on the upper eyelid, the darker blue in the "crease" area just above my liner, and the green at the outer corners...then i blended. i also went darker on my brows and threw on my lashes just to play up my eyes. up close i was worried it was too bright, but stepping back from the mirror and also looking at the photos, i liked the depth it added compared to my before picture above.

easter candy.

the result of my recent revlon nail polish purchase combined with the other pastel polishes in my collection. these pretty colors remind me of easter, and smell like it, too. the revlon polish is scented and smells like candy when dry. it was weird (in a good way) at first...everytime my hands came near my face, i could smell it. i caught myself sniffing my fingernails while driving, and it reminded me of that seinfeld episode where jerry was scratching the side of his nose when the girl he was dating pulled up on the other side. he tried to explain that
it was just a scratch, not a pick.
if anyone pulls up alongside me, it's just a sniff...really!
