buckle up.

i remember i wanted this seat belt backpack badly.
i thought it was the coolest backpack a
college student could carry around.
but it wasn't exactly in a college student's budget.
my sister surprised me and bought it for my birthday.
now i'll use it for work if i have to make day trips to the neighbor islands. i can shove everything i need in there and still have two hands free. poor bag has taken a beating, but
many years later and it still looks brand new.
totally durable.

also wanted to take a minute to say how appreciative i am of the friendships i've made with you all. from those who have been here since the beginning to new-found friends,
i'm amazed by the support fellow bloggers extend,
unconditionally, to total strangers.
a huge shout out to my friend, juanita, for sending the
sweetest card when i lost my dog a couple weeks ago.

from south africa to hawaii...

I love seat belts as fashion! I had one that was a belt (complete with the old metal clasp and everything) when I was in college.

I'll confess, I really don't like seatbelt refashions... they look too much like seatbelts, but this one looks pretty OK, maybe because it's red!

The thing is, I don't consider my favourite bloggers to be strangers anymore! You get to know their past times, tastes, things about their family, little things that friends share. I might actually know more about some of my blog-friends than I do folks I know in real life just because we share so much through our blogs, which is a rarity in our busy society these days.

That backpack is really cool, I can see why you wanted it so badly.

It's so humbling to see how each and everyone of us is so open and supportive in the blogging world. It's enough to get us out of bed everyday and get dressed to do what we do.
The support, love, and surprise gifs from sisters are a whole other book:-)

I know this post is about a super awesome backpack--but I have to tell you: you always have the most rockin' shoes! Is it weird that shoes are the first thing I notice? Great backpack by the way--I have a brown seatbelt purse :) I only use it every once in a great while though--it's so dang heavy. Plus I like cross body bags because they don't fall off my shoulder ♥

I always loved those bags...but I never got around to picking one up for myself. I love the red,though...and it really does look brand new in all of the pictures. Obviously, I should have invested in one, years ago :)

I'm loving the mustard n cherry (is that cherry red?) combination. Adding white is just brilliant to tone down everything without too-tone down.
