a perfect marriage.

i can't tell you how long i've been lusting over elbow patches.

when i first started blogging last fall, bloggers were

flooding the blogosphere with photos of their

pretty cardigans decorated with elbow patches.

where do you get such an uber cool thing, i asked?

of course...h&m.

land of all pretty things that are not available to me here.

so, imagine my joy when i found this dress on my trip to hilo.

and.

it.

had.

stripes.

double score.

if you stopped by yesterday, you'll know that i participated in an accessory swap with reva of revasrags2roses. reva's hair is always decorated with pretty scarves...

a look i love but never seem to be able to pull off.

well, i decided to step outside of the box and

embrace that style.

last month i participated in an accessory swap

hosted by pam at over50feeling40.

i mean, who doesn't love getting packages...

packages chock full of accessories for that matter?

and, that is exactly what i got.

i was paired with reva of revasrags2roses who went above and beyond sending me all kinds of goodies. i refrained from telling her what i liked, because i thought this would be a great opportunity for me to accessorize outside of the box. she actually sent a couple of pieces that fit my current style, like feather hair pins and a huge silver statement necklace, as well as some vintage and pre-owned pieces that she loves, like a beautiful scarf and purse. also included were some fun pink hair extensions, a bodysuit, a vintage key,

and a whistle signifying city safety.

i LOVE every piece...thank you, reva!

i had so much fun playing around with the accessories that i didn't know which outfit to post first. here's how i incorporated the pieces into my own style.
