weekend in photos.

it was the first weekend of summer for the minis, and we definitely took advantage of it. it included the movies,
the beach, and lots of good eats.

with the minis on summer break, things are expected to get busy around here. i apologize in advance for any interruptions in outfit posts. you may see a sponsored post or two to fill the voids, but i assure you more giveaways, and a fun collaboration i'm working on with a few bloggers. and in case i forgot to mention it, check out this post on sunny days & starry nights to see what i'm currently craving.

took mini-she and my nephew to the movies.
if you saw iron man 3, what are your thoughts?
burger, fries, and a chocolate shake upgrade.
headed to the beach for work & play.
the surf instructor took mini-he out to catch a few waves.
soaking up the sun.
panoramic view of the beach.
next stop? shave ice at my favorite general store.
strawberry + li hing mui and pineapple...
both with ice cream and snow caps.

and...
...yep. i'm paying for it now.

mini style. food fight.

when it comes to kids' clothes, it seems girls have a lot more options. especially here in our warm, sunshiny state, the stylish option to layer boys up in collared shirts and sweaters or jackets...well, just isn't an option. (we're lucky if we can even get them to wear shirts on a hot day!). so with jeans, shorts, and tees as standard uniform, i try to make them fun tees and cool jeans with some killer shoes.

the other thing with kids? they grow too fast. all the clothes mini-he received as gifts years ago all-of-a-sudden fit. his t-shirt drawer is overflowing, and he has more shoes than any boy should have. i started him a 'closet' on the recently launched marketplace, because they grow too fast (www.btgtf.com), where i can sell or swap his pre-loved clothes, or buy new-to-him ones.

and for all you big kids (a.k.a. adults), you can start a closet on their sister site, because i shop too much.

a yummylicious "thank-you" from a friend. mini-he and i devoured this as soon as we got home. oops...sorry mini-she!
(ae kids tee; denizen jeans, old navy shoes)

drink station.

last friday, i helped my sister at her alumni golf tournament.
we were in charge of a drink station that was located at a cross path. essentially, the golfers drove past our station twice throughout the 18 holes, which gave us a steady stream of business. it was a hot day, but we were surrounded by beautiful scenery at this private course. we served up drinks for about five hours before heading in to tally scorecards and pass out raffle prizes at the banquet. here's a few photos from the day.

(jcrew shorts; snow leopard toms)
what we were serving up...rum + cokes, margaritas, mai tais, screwdrivers, cape cods, and chilled vodka shots.
soaking up the sun in between waves of golfers.
how many of you can hold a teenager in the palm of your hand?
kahlua pork sandwiches from the vendor next to us.
panoramic view of the course at sunset.
views from our station.
