last year, i was all about simplifying.
when it came to accessories, i traded chunky for dainty necklaces and rings, and simplified my arm candy. and while i still love dainty pieces, i'm kinda missing those bigger pieces.
in the past couple of weeks, as i've been going through my jewelry, i realized two things:
1) i have a void for big, colorful, bib necklaces...
and
2) i don't have the right necklines to show off those statement pieces...i've acquired a lot of collared shirts over the past year, and i've always preferred v-necks to other necklines.
i personally like when a statement necklace hangs partly over the neckline of your shirt. compared with crew necks and scoop necks, boatnecks are a nice compromise because it provides enough backdrop for these pieces while still showing some skin.

i like the sweater and necklace combo in the second set of pics. they work well together.
I love statement necklaces! I have so many accessories and I have to admit I am so lazy to pair them with outfits that I don't wear many of them anymore :( I need to start.

I'm not a big necklace type of person, but I really like ALL those tops! :)
i love boatneck necklines and statement necklaces. they look so pretty together. becks you wear them well. i think with jewelry you have to change things up.

I spent a few years with one necklace in particular always around my neck, but it was a spider encased in resin hung on a black macrame string. Since then it's rare I wear necklaces at all unless they're chokers or very short, partly because there's nothing more frustrating than leaving over food/a cake and having a necklace tip into it hah. Right now all I'm really craving is warmer weather so I can stop wearing seventy thousand layers and wear my pretty shoes again!
I have been getting in to statement necklace more this year. Also scarf. Have a great weekend.
These are all great. I am in need of changing up a few things too, yet I can't bring myself to get rid of any jewelry, because you never know??
How's the running? As you can tell the "snow" put a damper on my week.
I love boatneck shirts. I am not in love with statement necklaces for some reason. The fifth one in the set isn't bad.

I am currently craving more makeup and new bags. I'm trying to forget about both but I'm a shopaholic and it gets hard sometimes. LOL

i love boatnecks! and some beautiful necklaces never hurt either.
ohhhhhh luvin it :)
I do like those statement necklaces, but don't know if I could pull it off. I feel like it may be too overwhelming for my small frame.
so far so good. wish i could hit the pavement more, but i'm usually stuck on the treadmill!
yes, sometimes we have to modify our style depending on our jobs!
I love the combos you came up with! I'm gravitating towards smaller pieces lately, but I still love busting out one of my statement pieces every so often!!
