pretty blouses and dainty gold chains. i'm still obsessed with collared button-down shirts, and this one is lightweight making it easier to wear in this blazing heat. plus, the sweet hearts are just in time for valentine's day. speaking of sweethearts, scroll on down to meet one.

it seems like just yesterday i was talking to

a co-worker about helping him get healthy, making it his goal to hike up koko head crater. we didn't do it once this year. sad.

in acceptance of the awards below, here are eight things i hope to keep up with next year:

• sleep early (at least a few times a week!)
• meet up with the girls monthly
• exercise, exercise, exercise
• schedule one-on-one time with the minis and stick to it
• try something new every month
  (restaurant, beach, hike, etc...)
• read at least one book a month
• fix my laptop & get new desk for home

i mentioned that i finally got around to cleaning my jewelry/junk drawer. wish i had some before photos, but just take my word for it...it was a disaster. one day i threw a few important papers in the drawer with the intention of filing it later. next thing i knew it was filled to the brim with mail, receipts, pens, stuff. the bottom of the drawer was starting

to sag. it had that much stuff in it.

found this pink, ceramic cupcake pan at ross a while back.

i had no intention of baking, but it was cute and

i knew i could find a use for it.

sending a shoutout to samantha of this fashionista for the one lovely blog award. this girl has the best jewelry...i'm always lusting over her tiered earrings and huge rings. and, she wrote a book at age 17?! go check her out. now.

in honor of her book, here's seven book-ish quirks:

1) doesn't have to be new, but i like to buy my books...

compared to borrowing from the library.

2) i carry my books everywhere.

even though i know i won't touch it. but just in case.

3) i love sci-fi, fantasy, murder mysteries.

4) i prefer to watch a movie first, then read the book.

5) i go thru phases, but i'm currently taking forever to

read my books. thus, #1.

6) i love photographing books.

sometimes my late nights catch up with me and i end up

falling asleep while putting mini-he to bed.

so i stumble to the shower, get back to bed for a few more

hours of sleep, and wake up more tired than ever.

that's the kind of week i've been having...resulting in my

lack-luster outfits and probably the reason

my face is on the verge of breaking out.

(all my words with friends friends, sorry if it's still my move!)

happy father's day to all the dads out there.

we're headed to mac 24-7 again for some mac daddy pancakes and waffles. we went there for mother's day, but a few family members were sick and didn't get the mac daddy experience.

aside from that, i hope to hit the north shore beaches,

clean my jewelry/junk drawer, and work off those pancakes.

but i just have to have...

6) four red vines to top it off!

7) that's all i had so far, but noticed i haven't had any water yet! drinking a glass of water now.

bought this vest last christmas, but wanted to get more mileage out of it the rest of the year.

i toned it down by layering it over a similar colored tee

and found it totally do-able for summer.

2) when i find something i love, i buy it in evvry color

3) i always lose my parking ticket, then find it

it's gettin hot in here.

after all the dark office-y stuff i wore this week,

it felt nice to throw on some color.

unfortunately, my go-to yellow sweater is hot as heck.

not to mention the addition of socks and boots.

i'm borderline miserable and can't wait to

get into the car and strip down.

typical story...it's pouring when i leave the house,

sunny when i get to work.

only, after all the rain we've been getting, i really thought it was going to be cool and gray today. 

anyways, while cleaning out my closet the past few weekends, i finally found the belt for this sweater. i've worn it open here and here, but i also love it sloppily wrapped and tied.
