east vs west [coast] style. girls' night out.

with the holidays comes lots of get-togethers. one of mine is always a christmas night out with the girls. this week, the ladies and i are rocking outfits that we might wear for a night out with our besties. all are provided by Lulu's.

visit the ladies for more details on their outfits.

east
Jackie / Living After Midnite / New York
Meaghan / District Sparkle / D.C.
Tracy / TheRightShoes / New York

west
Ashley / Golden Divine / California
Ashley / Pursuit of Shoes / California
Becks / oomph. / Hawaii

many people festively wear red during christmas, but i opted for green. i have been loving the idea of monochromatic outfits. by pairing two similar shades of green, this outfit shows just how easy it is to pull off. in addition, party attire doesn't always mean dresses, as some of us have shown here. pant suits and pencil skirts work well because they are classic and versatile. after the holidays you can break up the separates and work them into your office wardrobe.

emerald and topaz.

since i tend to wear a lot of neutrals, i have been making a conscious effort to add colorful pieces to my collection of accessories. plus, accessories are a great way to introduce color in small doses to your wardrobe. this bloomsbury bag in dark green was a no brainer. not only does it work with my favorite neutral, leopard [yes, it's a neutral in my book!], but it's totally on trend with spring's color, emerald.

i was immediately drawn to this blue jade ring. it's eye-catching, and the cool blue stands out against warm neutrals.

trending emerald + instagrams.

just a simple work outfit utilizing the only emerald i may possibly have in my wardrobe.

i'm looking forward to the long weekend, but it's going to be a busy one. mini-she is in her school play, and with the shows coming up next week, they now have saturday practices. mini-he started flag football, and his games start on sunday. so with the games taking my sunday picture-taking slot, bear with me (again) as i figure out how to squeeze in my outfit photos.
i leave you with a few recent instagrams.

have a stylish weekend.
