an [oomph.] review. hanes hosiery tights.

[i received these tights for the sole purpose of this review;
all opinions are 100% mine.]

fall is a great season for experimenting with layers and textures, especially when trying to extend the life of our summer wardrobes. an easy and affordable way to add a layer of warmth is with stockings and tights. there are so many patterns to choose from making this a fun way to show off your personality. a few years back, i was obsessed with polka dots and leopard prints!

this time, i swapped out my usual black tights for these Hanes matte opaque tights in green to add some fun fall color to my black outfit. i added a third color (camel) for dimension and a print (leopard) to break up the solid colors.

have you tried Hanes hosiery?
how do you express yourself with tights?

my thoughts on these matte opaque control top tights:

- they are durable and do not snag easily.
- they have a nice comfortable stretch.
(although control top will be snug)
- no sliding down throughout the day.
- nice vibrant color.
- affordable.

food from a recent art + flea event...bonfire pizza, katsudog, aloha pops.

crops + boots.

with regards to personal style, i think it's important to take risks...dress outside of the box, as i like to say.
otherwise, we never change; and change is good.
take this cardigan from Patty's Closet, for instance. while i loved the [faux] leather trims and zipper details, the idea of a long in front, cropped in back style never really appealed to me. i tried it on anyways with an open mind, and to my surprise, i liked it. here's why it worked for me: i'm short. the cropped back elongates by showing off the entire length of my legs while still giving the illusion of a longer style in front. to further elongate, i threw on these tall platform boots from JustFab.
i'm glad i tried something different and found a
new favorite cardigan in doing so.

do you take risks or play it safe when it
comes to your personal style?
what did you try that was different from your norm?

JustFab Valletta boot.
love, love, love these boots. i chose the Valletta because it had a smaller calf circumference. i was unsure about the platform and 5-inch heel height, but it's comfortable and easy to walk in. this style seems to run a 1/2 size smaller which worked out perfectly for me. JustFab is ON right now; i love everything i've been getting. JustFab recently launched its LUXE line of genuine leather shoes. i purchased the remington and
eagerly await its arrival.

on repeat.

this should have been called 'a week of canvas military jacket', because i have been wearing it every single day. not only that, but i have been wearing it with some kind of animal print. it's not often that we get cool-enough weather here, so i have to take advantage while i can...even if that means wearing the same jacket [or hunter rainboots, or fur coat] for three days
in a row. sorry if you're tired of seeing this.

i still haven't found a replacement time for taking outfit photos, so my apologies for the sporadic posts. i have been trying to snap a few after work before getting on the road...literally setting the timer for ten shots and that's it. this is as good as it gets for now. in the meantime, i've been more present on facebook talking about things i'm loving
and sales i've discovered. come hang out!

delicious coffee jello.
