continuing on with this week of leopard accents, i added leopard to this outfit with a scarf. a bold scarf is the perfect quick fix for simple or monochromatic outfits. worn around your neck, it takes the place of a necklace, and minimizes the need for other accessories.

that said, if time is an issue in the morning, a small leopard scarf tied around your neck is a nice finishing touch to a sheath dress. grab your heels, watch, and a pair of stud earrings, and you are out the door in no time. if comfort is the issue, an oversized leopard scarf takes jeans and a tee from

casual to casual chic.

of course, the day i had an opportunity to snap a few pics, i wasn't wearing anything blog worthy. just a casual friday outfit built around these shoes. in fact, all of my recent outfits have been built around these shoes, meaning lots of pencil skirts and cropped jeans. the fact that they are really comfortable doesn't help, but i'm sure i'll grow tired of them soon (not!).

tomorrow i'm volunteering at an event at the aquarium. i'm looking forward to it since it's been years since my last visit.
not sure what i'll be doing, but hopefully i can sneak away to take a few pictures.

as much as i love a relaxing weekend, i also love one that is spontaneous and full of healthy activities. this weekend, i:

• tried a new hike in aina haina valley where there were no breathtaking views from above. instead, beyond the shrubbery and beneath the tall trees, the ruins of kawauoha heiau where a human sacrifice once took place.
• played ping pong for the first time in years. it was a few friendly games, but inside i really wanted to win. i think a rematch is in order.
• taught mini-she and my nephew how to do the rubiks cube.
• learned and played four square with the kids. there were a few almost sprained fingers and broken nails.
  my nephew hates to lose and doesn't care if you are a girl, but little does he know this aunty can dish it right back. bring it!
