here's a blazer in gray sweatshirt material that i picked up years ago. it seemed like a great idea...a step up from an actual sweatshirt. only thing is it's too hot to wear with pants, so pairing it with shorts has been a good compromise.

after all of the bright neon accessories i've been donning recently (in the form of my YoT watch), black actually felt refreshing. a friend secretly bought this necklace for me while we were shopping at urban outfitters in cali. it's something i never would have bought for myself, but i love it.

you may have noticed that i haven't been wearing nail polish lately. with all the girls in the house, mini-he's been

wanting evvrything we have...

nail polish, bracelets, long hair, dresses...ugh.

so until he gets over this copy-cat phase, i'll be laying low

on the colorful manicures.

tomorrow will be an all day affair at the beach...kind of a farewell to my nephew who will be going off to college next month. my brother-in-law will be getting there at the crack of dawn to secure a good location. i really want to sleep in, but i guess we'll be heading out early as well to get good parking.

what i'm enjoying most about these five-inch dany platforms is that i've been able to wear a bunch of things that have been in the "needs alterations" section of my closet...things that required a bit more skill than me and my scissors. i loved these pants when i bought them over eight to ten years ago. yes, it's been so long that i can't even remember when i bought them. the material is super thick with a little stretch, and holds its shape throughout the day. i'm loving them all over again.

holy mother of...shitzu.

ok, i knew these bad boys were gonna be big. but i didn't know they were gonna be that big. i thought my aldos, here, were high...but these jessica simpsons are towering. for a split second i thought about returning them, but they are comfortable and pretty stable because of the chunky heel. i really needed black shoes, but my size is hard to find...mainly in shoes, but rings and other things too...so when i actually find things in my size, i tend to snatch them up even when i don't need them. hate when i do this.

rain no more.

**got busy and forgot to post this...from friday**

it poured rain overnight and was crazy windy this morning. it was the morning to bundle up in layers. typical weather here, though, sun came out. bummer. coat stayed in the car. thigh-highs got pushed down. is it too much to ask for just one day of insanely rainy, windy, and cold weather so that we can wear our coats and stockings and boots? this paper thin sweater, also worn here, was perfect for today...warm enough in the wind, but cool enough in the sun. worn over a bodycon.

gobble gobble.

spent thanksgiving with family at my sister's house...the wind was relentless in the valley. we also celebrated her birthday. bought two mulberry for target bags (of course had to get one for me), and let her choose. this is the one i ended up with. oh, and below is the traditional thanksgiving tree i started a few years ago. just a dried branch that i painted. everyone takes a leaf, or two, and writes down what they are thankful for...just so we don't forget.
