i love armani exchange for their attention to detail, and this dress was no exception. with a long, double-ended zipper, which allows you to expose as much (or as little) as you want, this dress was definitely a keeper.

it's a bit short for my liking; wish it were a tad longer. it's also too hot here for stockings, but the dress totally zips open...maybe it would work as a vesty thing over another

(hot pink!) dress or skirt.

anyhow, there was no time for creativity this morning.

i'll have to keep experimenting with this one.

i'm not one to plan outfits in advance...so for hectic mornings, which is almost evvvry morning, i'm thankful for dresses because they are instant outfits.

that said, i can never pass up a great dress.

armani exchange has been my go-to place for fabulous pieces with an edge. every item has some oomph-worthy detail. i love the draping on the shoulders of this dress. it also has some awkward drapey thing going on in the back which i absolutely don't get, but it just works.

the fabric is silky smooth, and a few times i've found the tie undone.

armani exchange never disappoints. they have a petite line which fits me perfectly, and they have an outlet store which always has small sizes. this is one of my go-to places for un-boring work clothes. each and every one of their pieces has some detail that makes it a bit edgy. this is a simple and classic sheath dress. until you turn around. ok, so maybe this dress isn't exactly office appropriate, but i brought a jacket.

last week i posted photos of blanket-y capes in nordic prints that i've been craving. finally found one in a drapey cut and in a design that wasn't reminiscent of a bad Christmas sweater.  bought the large for a looser fit and longer length. worn here over a silky slip dress, it's the perfect combination of comfort. even though i'm sitting here in my office, it feels like i never got out of bed...
