it may be hurricane season, but it's still sunny and hot. i love summer, and i'm hanging on to it for dear life. thank goodness Patty's Closet is still stocked with cute rompers and shorts because it definitely isn't sweater weather...yet! coincidentally, the trim on this kimono i got a while back matched the trim on the romper.

a couple photos below from our adventures on the east side a few weeks ago. speaking of adventures...please, please be careful when you are out and about. nowadays, with [the pressure of] social media, people are pushing the limits trying to get the coolest shot. i'm guilty of this! a teen was swept off the rocks (here) by the waves a couple days ago. his body was found the next day. a few months ago, two young soldiers hiking nearby were also taken by the waves. there are signs and railings for a reason...read them and be sensible. do not underestimate the power of the ocean. a cool selfie is not worth your life.

when i saw these sunglasses at Patty's Closet, i instantly thought...minions! they are big and over-the-top, but super fun. it's the perfect statement accessory for this simple black romper, also from Patty's Closet.

summer is coming to an end for us as the minis are headed back to school this week. i hate for it to end, but i'm satisfied with how we spent our time. scenes from the weekend below.

 paddle boarding followed by this pretty sunset in haleiwa (you can still catch it on periscope @oomph). it got even better...as we were driving home, cars were pulling over on the side of the road. we looked back to see that the sunset had turned the sky a vibrant red-orange. you can see how it change from the above as well as see all the cars pulling over to get a shot of it on snapchat (@rockoomph).

is everyone enjoying their summer so far? there are so many things i want to do this summer that i'm getting anxious. maybe it's because mini-he and i have been sick that i feel like we're missing out, but i can't complain about what we've done so far. in fact, last weekend, i went to a really fun and informative wine tasting of nine wines we can't get here in hawaii. it left us with lighter wallets (my friend and i split a case of our two favorite wines), a great buzz, and a longing for tuscany.

i'm wearing another romper from Patty's Closet. i can't stress how easy these are for summer when you need something cute and effortless for all the activities you'll be doing. i'll be poolside with drink in hand tomorrow; catch it on snapchat. have a great weekend!

it's officially summer in our house, as the minis are out of school. and while it's been hot and humid, it's also been rainy since we are approaching hurricane season here. rain or shine, i just love summer because we can stay out late be flexible with our routines and enjoy the longer days. this pretty magenta romper from Patty's Closet is perfect for romping around in the summer.

last weekend we went to see the harlem globetrotters...did you catch it on snapchat? i saw them when i was young and have been waiting for the opportunity to see them again. they definitely put on a good show.

our weather has been a mixed bag lately making this Patty's Closet romper a welcomed addition to my closet. with an item like this, i don't have to worry about unpredictable weather since the t-shirt material and long sleeves are cool enough/warm enough for whatever mother nature throws our way. and for a casual outfit, this gold monogram necklace from 9th & Elm is perfect for when you need just a little something for the neckline.

while we were graced with a day of sunshine yesterday, the rain is back. and it needs to stop. i miss the feeling of warm sunshine on my skin, and it's painfully obvious in these pictures that i'm losing i've lost my tan. meanwhile, i'm stocking up on rompers from Patty's Closet like there's no tomorrow, and when spring springs, i'll be ready.
