long time readers know that i'm leopard's number one fan.

but after hearing someone refer to it as cheetah print, i figured it was time to learn the differences. after all, what kind of number one fan would i be if i didn't know exactly

what leopard print was supposed to look like?

here's what i learned:

- cheetahs have small, evenly spaced black spots.

- leopards have small, round, black & brown

clusters called rosettes.

- jaguars also have rosettes, but theirs are larger

and have black spots in the middles.

so, based on the larger rosettes and black spots in the middles, i'd say this pretty leopard print top i got from Patty's Closet [in Mililani Town Center] is actually jaguar. and i'd be doing the jaguars a great disservice by not giving them credit where credit was due. it was too late to change my photo,

but i did give them the title.

on the weekends, you'll usually find me lounging in denim shorts and a tee...especially during summer. a light-colored blazer and low(er) wedges keep me polished but not overdone in this

beachy state.

trucker hat and spiked shoes.

with kids, there's a lot of waiting around while they are at lessons, sports, and extra-curricular activities, so comfort is key. denim cut-offs + oversized sweaters is my go-to combo on the weekends, because it's simple and unfussy. and because i wear this quite often, i'll mix in different accessories to keep it fun...this time a trucker hat, spiked leopard shoes, and this bright green clutch i won in a recent giveaway hosted by jackie. it's the perfect size for an ipad, which is essential when you have lots of time to kill.

athletically speaking.

even though we have good weather year round, i get excited for summer months because [with the minis out of school] we can stray from our normal routines. i'm looking forward to getting outdoors, exercising, and eating healthy. mini-she just finished her track & field season at school, and i've been encouraging her to continue her workouts at home. mini-he will need a little more convincing. he just got his first pair of athletic shoes, "just like mom's"...hopefully that keeps him interested. 

there's been a lot of hype over "green" smoothies, so i've been browsing for some recipes to try. i love to eat my fruits and veggies, and given the choice between a spinach salad or a spinach smoothie, i'd probably choose the salad. luckily, my kids have no problem eating their fruits and veggies either. but, i am curious and want to know if you really can't taste the greens.

my mom makes carrot/fruit juice, and i CAN taste the carrots.

another polish from butter london's nude collection. as with most

opaque polishes, this one was really difficult to apply. even with a base coat, two coats of polish, and a top coat, the polish

chipped after a couple of days. i like the color, though.

love my boyfriends.

while we love dressing up in our tight skinny jeans and body conscious pencil skirts and dresses, let's admit...it gets exhausting holding in that tummy all the time. maybe it's the after effects of my holiday eating or maybe i'm just getting lazy, but i've been relying on my boyfriends to make me feel comfortable and at ease. with my boyfriends, my gut doesn't

have to pretend to be something it's not.

we had our office party today where we played our traditional dice game. deliveries of edible arrangements, yummy mochi, and snack baskets are coming in, our meant-to-be-decoration stockings are actually being filled up,

and the ac is freezing cold.

*singing* it's beginning to feel a lot like christmas...

another pair of shorts i bleached, distressed, and studded. i kind of like this half and half pair...it's like two outfits depending on which side you're looking at.

wish i could say i was doing something exciting; it's coming up in about 40 minutes here, so i'll likely be posting this post...or eating lunch...or sitting at my desk working.

i have been living in this exact outfit for the past couple of weekends. no joke. i grabbed this shirt on black friday and was tempted to get all the plaids and flannels since they were half off...but i was sensible. deets on the shorts below.

dip-dye method...mostly bleach with a splash of water.

results below after 30-40 minutes.

spray method for ombre look.

concentrate mostly on the bottom and spray less as you go up.

here's a few after their first wash and dry.

i further distressed them, washed and dried a second time,

and finally added studs.

a few have already been sold, but the rest will be

in the store this week.
