flixology.

it's no surprise i love netflix.
you can read why here.
with the entire family watching, my netflix recommendations have been an interesting mix of toddler shows, disney movies, romantic comedies, and historical documentaries to name a few. i'm pretty easy to please when it comes to movies...i either love 'em (haute) or hate 'em (faux pas). and most times, i find some reason to love 'em. i've been meaning to share some of the cool shows with you, so scroll down for the first of oomph FLIXology...short and fashionable reviews.

this was probably one of hilary's transitional roles from teen to adult. sort of a cross between never been kissed and clueless. while i'm not a huge fan of hers, she definitely sported some fashionable work ensembles that left me craving pencil skirts and heels. this one definitely gets a:

feels so good.

notice anything different?
my nails are painted!
i stopped painting them for a while because of mini-he, but couldn't resist any longer. i'm just loving bubble gum pinks.
i didn't have the exact shade i was hoping for, but mini-she had something similar. it was pretty sheer, so i had to use three coats to achieve this color. if you are craving bubble gum, too, here are some similar shades that i love:

i'm also wearing the mark flip-over reversible skirt that
i talked about here. i'll have to make some alterations because it's a few sizes too big, but the style is
just what i've been looking for.

any big plans for the weekend?

it's official...the holiday season is here! starbucks says so.

a dignified swap.

it's been an interesting week here with asia-pacific
economic cooperation (APEC) in town.
as all the world's dignitaries arrive, we are experiencing traffic and road closures everywhere. i was already running late when i hit a freeway closure this morning...chinese president, hu jintao, was making his way to waikiki. after a few obscene texts and tweets, i decided to turn off the car, turn up the music, and enjoy my breakfast. tomorrow will be even worse as the majority of the leaders arrive. i was hoping to enjoy the long weekend away from the traffic...until i found out that
i. have. to. work.

a while back i mentioned that i ordered a bunch of stuff that didn't fit and had to be returned. so, i begrudgingly gave up the too-small leatherette ankle zip pants that i really, really, really wanted and brought home this sweater instead. although i love this type of layering, i was borderline uncomfortable. let's just say the ac was jacked up real high.
