every once in a while you come across something amazing...like this tropical print jumpsuit from TwinkleDeals! i love the colors, i love the print, i love the style...it's perfect for summer events that are a little more dressy. i kept the jewelry to a minimum and the shoes neutral, but added oomph with a fun fur bag.

the one issue i had with this jumpsuit is that the straps were sewn wrong. it's hard to explain in writing, but in a nutshell, i can't adjust the straps. they are currently pinned, which is a bummer because the criss-cross back was a nice detail.

east vs west [coast] style. festival.

festival season is almost upon us. while i've never had the privilege of attending one, i've seen pictures...and boy does it look fun. this week, the girls and i are rocking our festival looks with the help of Lulu's and Capwell + Co. the first things that come to mind are flowy dresses, denim shorts, and boots. turns out, the rest of the girls think so, too! my main concern at a festival (besides looking cute!) would be comfort, and from what i've seen, anything goes!

by our looks, it's obvious that comfy shoes are a must for all the walking we'd be doing, as well as light layers to keep us cool/warm throughout the day. what would you wear or have you worn to a festival?

i'm wearing my trusty denim shorts and ankle boots for comfort as well as a lightweight sweater that's cool enough during the day and warm enough at night. i definitely want to be hands-free, so a just-big-enough bag is a necessity. for fun, i threw in my bobby glam hair extensions for some length, added some loose waves, and pinned up the sides.

this beautiful necklace is perfect for a festival look. i layered it with a feathered necklace to create a fun boho vibe.

fur and tassel.

my shoedrobe is in need of a major overhaul. i have black,

brown, gray, and tons of leopard, leaving me with two voids to fill...nudes and brights. those are the colors i'm always wishing i had when i get dressed in the morning. this shanghai wedge from JustFab is nude and has lots of oomph-worthy details. i love the stacked wood detail, the lace-up, and the tassels.

what a weekend! ours was jam-packed with activities which i'll share throughout the week, but first let's talk about superbowl sunday. we always have parties because it's also my nephew's birthday. this year was exciting because 1) i actually watched the game, 2) i almost understood what was going on, and 3) there was some monetary prizes involved (i won nothing!). i did catch some (friendly) $hit on instagram from 49ers fans after posting the photo of mini-he below. i am clueless about football, therefore i am not partial to any team. but, for the sake of having some friendly competition in the house,

i usually root for the underdog.

finally. peplum.

been wanting to try this trend for a while. it's more fluff and florals than i'm used to wearing, but i kind of liked it

with black [accessories].

two short weeks.

hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of july holiday.

on tuesday night, the neighborhood moms decided to go walking after the kids went to bed. so at 9pm, we set off for what i thought would be a quick walk around a few blocks. two hours later, we had walked the entire town. these mamas don't

mess around. and how did we end the walk?

with a glass of wine, of course.

unfortunately, i woke up sick as a dog on the 4th.

spent the entire day in bed. and the poor minis...mini-he literally sat on the bed the entire day watching and waiting for me to get up. fortunately [although heavily medicated] i was able to get out of bed long enough to take them

to see the fireworks.

the best thing about this middle-of-the-week holiday?

two short weeks.

faux-ever mine.

i didn't have to think twice about these [faux] leather shorts. even though they were a tad loose, i was sold on the color alone...my current black leather pair being slightly too dressy for summer. i envision these in a neutral palette of oversized sweaters, loose tees, and my leopard print sperry top-siders,

or paired with brightly colored tops and pretty slippers.

this is definitely going to be a summertime favorite.
