east vs west [coast] style. neon.

yowza...it's bright in here!
this week we're rocking neon, and nothing says bright like neon. these bright colors are bold enough to stand on their own, or pair them with another bright color if you dare. looking to tone it down? keep it casual and pair it with neutrals. the great thing about neon is that it's truly wearable. introduce bright colors into your wardrobe with small doses like a belt, scarf, or bag. hope you find some inspiration here, because spring loves brights!

don't forget to visit the girls.

east
Jackie / Living After Midnite / New York
Meaghan / District Sparkle / D.C.
Tracy / TheRightShoes / New York

west
Ashley / Pursuit of Shoes / California
Ashley / Golden Divine / California
Becks / oomph. / Hawaii

daylight doesn't accurately portray the brightness of these hi-lighter yellow shorts. while i'm not afraid to rock this bold color, i also love the flip side of pairing brights with neutrals. i've been slowly growing my collection of tees, and this creamy Paradise Lost tee felt like the perfect match for these shorts. plus, it is uber soft and comfortable!
long time readers know that i have a favorite gold ring very similar to this one. i am so happy to have this one in silver.

i was worried this bag was going to be huge and heavy, but it's the perfect size. absolutely loving the style and color.

a week of stripes. details.

it's no secret that i love stripes...
and it's been a while since i've done a week of,
so this week it's all about stripes.
a basic, black and white, long-sleeved tee is a great wardrobe staple. it's a nice layering piece, but also works well on its own. i have several that are very similar, but sometimes a fun detail is what sets one apart from the rest.
think zippers, bows, cut-outs, or elbow patches!

check back this week for more stripey goodness.
how much do you love stripes?

march madness.

i never really thought about the meaning behind march madness, but there seems to be a lot going on this month. we had a school banquet last week and have three birthday parties and a school fun fair on the calendar so far. track meets every friday and football games every sunday are new activities for us this year, plus my schedule always gets shuffled during spring break, and taxes need to get done before april's deadline. and let's not forget that we end the month coloring and hiding eggs for easter. all that and it's only the first week of march!

also wanted to share with you JustFab's
upcoming happy hour promotion:
it's all about clutches, and there are so many cute ones in the boutique now. savvy, sway, and el diablo are my favorites!

p is for pink.

accident update.
turns out the guy who hit me didn't have insurance, didn't have a driver's license, and gave a bogus phone number.
total. buzzkill.
adjuster came to look at the car, and it's looking like a total loss...meaning the cost to repair the car (which is estimated at over $10,000) is more than the car is worth. now i'm forced to buy a car that i really can't afford right now.
double. buzzkill.

i love these boyfriend shorts. they are so comfortable;
i want to get them in every color.
oh, wait...i can't...gotta buy a car instead.

the best halloween treat in the bunch...

just fabulous.

a few things i'm loving right now...my j.crew and GAP shorts (they fit perfectly!) and this pink bag from justfab. although i tend to stick to neutral colored bags in browns and black, i do have a history of having pink bags. i've found that this soft shade of pink blends nicely with many outfits and lends a touch of color without being too obvious.

if you haven't heard of justfab, it's like having your own personal stylist. after taking a short quiz about your style, items are handpicked for your personalized boutique. shop your boutique and purchase any of the items for only $39.95 each. i'm always skeptical to join these programs because i'm unsure of the quality and selection of the items offered. having experienced justfab first hand, i can now say that the quality of the products, the selection of items, and the service at justfab is, well...just fabulous!

a hungering for attention.

yes, guys...it's a new book! after three months, i finally finished live wire and i'm moving on to the hunger games. i know i'm way behind on this, but mini-she bought the book and i need some easy reading to make up for the last couple of months. i'm still not on the bandwagon, but that's what i said about twilight and i ended up buying all the books. we shall see.

this week it's all about colored denim [and a few other things sprinkled in]. the trends have pressured us to color block and pair brights with brights, but sometimes everything just blends together. lately i've been pairing my colored denims with neutrals so there's no question as to where the focus should be.

have you read the hunger games?
how do you wear your colored denims?

pb & j + c.

growing up, mornings were always a rush to get ready and on the road for school. in an attempt to give me something nutritious, my dad would at least make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. one day, i remember biting into something unexpected. it was peanut butter and jelly with a slice of cheese. it wasn't horrible, but i was mad...mad that he messed with my pb + j. mad that he messed with my taste buds. when i asked him why he put cheese in my pb + j, he said it was for calcium since i didn't drink milk. i couldn't argue with that.

anyways, i'm loving this tank top.
it's a sweater. it's a racerback. it's super bright.
unfortunately, it had to compete with the bright sunlight in these photos, but the closeups are pretty accurate.
also comes in lilac and white.

have you ever had a pb & j + c? did your parents throw together any weird concoctions for the sake of nutrition?

four cards later.

after dinner with family on saturday, we took a peek in old navy since our car was parked in front of the store. nothing really excited me, but i had a few gift cards, so i grabbed a few things (most of which were on clearance) and headed for the checkout. four gift cards later, i still had to pay. when i got home, i noticed that the price for this shirt was originally $29, red tagged at $25 and called clearance.
hardly a clearance price, if you ask me.

i love the shirt, nonetheless...it's one of those collared, button down types that i like, sheer-ish but not see thru,
and super bright.

laugh out loud.

told you.
here's the starbucks tray again.
this fire lane is so windy that depending on which way you are walking, your hair is either super flat if you are facing the wind, or full and in your face if your back is to the wind.
impossible to get a decent shot when you are constantly trying to get the hair out of your mouth.
i'm having a hard time getting dressed up this week. maybe 'cause i have too much beach on my mind. easy tees with oomph-worthy details like this are perfect for days like these.

i just heard on the radio that women who shop at least
five days a week outlive women who don't shop.
doesn't matter if you buy anything.
how you like them apples?
